We have been talking to people about how they can create the culture they need in their organizations, and our People Solutions Analysis is helping them to see how the five People Solutions categories can help them to do this. Today I'd like to talk to you about one of those categories, Creating Positive Energy.
What is energy like in your organization? Is it what you want? I have said for years that your crew is a direct reflection of you. That is kind of humbling sometimes. If we want to create positive energy, we need to have positive energy ourselves or do the things to create it. That's not always easy because it makes us feel vulnerable, and most of us don't like to feel vulnerable. We may get embarrassed, fail, or get laughed at.

Creating positive energy starts with doing things people don't expect. One of the reasons JP Horizons events are so great is that we do things on the edge that help people to be vulnerable. This creates energy and a memorable experience that makes people want to come back. What are some simple things you can you do in your organization?
- Look for opportunities to say thanks.
- Shake hands.
- Give high fives.
- Applaud people at tailgate meetings for doing something great.
- Focus on community events that are fun and outlandish.
- Look at Come Alive Outside Green Street Challenges and build teams around that idea.
Your crew is a direct reflection of you, so if we want to create the culture that we need, then we have to create a sense of vulnerability and do things other companies aren't doing and do them in a fun way. Create energy so people are excited about being in our organizations.
We are going to be learning more about creating the culture that we need at all of our Face-to-Face events this year, so make sure to get your team registered for one or all of them.
